Role overview
The Solutions Consultant connects the needs of public-transport agencies with the capabilities of a fare-payment and ticketing platform. Working alongside business development, the consultant shapes technical strategy, develops persuasive solutions, runs demonstrations, supports procurement responses, and translates successful proposals into deliverable plans. The role spans the full commercial lifecycle, from early discovery through implementation handover and product feedback.
The position is remote for candidates located anywhere on the East Coast.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business development to define solution strategy, technical positioning, and stakeholder relationships in the assigned market. - Develop a deep understanding of both transit-agency needs and the platform’s capabilities, particularly its open architecture and integration model. - Engage technical stakeholders early, lead demonstrations, and explain how proposed solutions address operational and customer problems. - Contribute to RFPs, bids, Statements of Work, and other procurement or commercial documentation; identify product gaps and coordinate follow-up with product and engineering teams. - Lead discovery workshops before and after a sale, aligning business, technical, delivery, and procurement stakeholders from initial response through detailed design. - Convert agreed solutions into clear handover material for delivery teams and help product, engineering, and program-management groups understand implementation needs. - Feed recurring customer needs and market signals back into product and engineering planning.
Requirements
- Experience in technical consulting, solutions engineering, product-focused work, or a closely related role. - Working familiarity with APIs, data models, integration flows, and the practical design of connected enterprise solutions. - Experience contributing to RFPs, Statements of Work, structured procurement responses, or similar commercial documentation. - Ability to guide diverse stakeholders through complex subjects, adjust communication to the audience, and reach workable decisions. - Experience with enterprise or public-sector customers in complex environments such as transit, mobility, government technology, fintech, or another regulated sector. - Ability to balance commercial, technical, and delivery considerations while working collaboratively in situations where requirements are still developing.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with fare-collection systems or transit-agency operating environments. - Experience integrating third-party hardware or SaaS platforms, working in another tender-led sector, or improving technical documentation, diagrams, partner enablement, or onboarding materials. - Curiosity about practical uses of AI tools for learning, problem-solving, and productivity.
