The work includes Kubernetes operations, cloud infrastructure, federal security requirements, and participation in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and run Kubernetes infrastructure across AWS GovCloud and Google Cloud using infrastructure-as-code and GitOps workflows. - Own production monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, incident response, and follow-up improvements. - Maintain platform services such as observability, logging, secrets management, messaging, and CI/CD tooling. - Work with security and compliance colleagues to implement hardening and federal requirements, including FedRAMP-related controls. - Automate recurring operational tasks and contribute to the on-call rotation. - Document procedures, incidents, and changes for reliable operations.
Requirements
- At least 10 years in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, including production Kubernetes operations. - Strong Terraform skills; Terragrunt experience is useful, along with familiarity with GitOps deployment workflows. - Solid Linux, networking, and TLS fundamentals. - Experience with observability systems such as Prometheus and Grafana, and with log pipelines. - Ability to script or develop in Go, Python, or Bash, and communicate clearly in operational documentation. - U.S. citizenship and U.S. residency are required for access to the government cloud environment.
Benefits and work setup
- U.S. remote role, with a preference for candidates near Salt Lake City for a hybrid arrangement. - Full-time salaried position; the stated U.S. base range is $150,000–$205,000, with actual pay depending on qualifications, location, and experience. - Benefits may include health, life, and disability insurance, professional development support, paid time off, retirement savings, holidays, and parental leave.
