Python API Developer (Django & FastAPI)

Role overview Build and maintain Python APIs and backend services for client projects, working from written requirements. Projects may involve creating a new service, connecting to an existing system, or repairing a running application. You are expected to clarify gaps before coding, test the result, and hand it over so another developer can operate and maintain it.

Responsibilities - Review client needs and specifications, raising questions or missing requirements early. - Design endpoints, data models, and database schemas with Django, Django REST Framework, or FastAPI. - Integrate external services such as payment systems, CRMs, messaging tools, or productivity platforms. - Implement authentication, input validation, permissions, and clear error handling. - Write and run automated tests, document APIs with OpenAPI, and provide setup and handover notes. - Fix in-scope defects during the agreed post-delivery support period and communicate risks or delays.

Requirements - Strong Python skills and real project experience shipping work in Django or FastAPI. - Understanding of REST, JSON, HTTP status codes, and webhooks. - Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including migrations and writing queries. - Familiarity with session, token, or OAuth2 authentication. - Able to use Git, write maintainable code, work independently, and meet agreed deadlines. - Clear written English.

Benefits and work setup - Remote, project-based contract work paid at a fixed fee agreed in writing for each project or milestone. There is no monthly salary or guaranteed workload. - Post-delivery support is limited to the agreed period and original scope; new work is estimated and paid separately.
