Information Systems Administrator

Role overview Own the design, operation, and continual improvement of internal infrastructure, security controls, and employee technology. This senior administrator works with substantial autonomy across private and public cloud, networking, and Microsoft 365, while providing advanced support and setting clear technical and documentation standards.

Responsibilities - Operate and improve private and public cloud platforms, including CloudStack or comparable infrastructure and AWS or Google Cloud environments. - Lead upgrades, migrations, capacity expansion, and administration of server, virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems. - Manage network services and equipment, including firewalls, VPNs, switching, VLANs, and remote access. - Own vulnerability management and maintain controls for identity, MFA, endpoint protection, and centralized logging. - Co-administer Microsoft 365 and standardize endpoint provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management across Windows, macOS, and Linux. - Support audits, monitor system health, automate operations, document procedures, manage vendors, and provide advanced technical support.

Requirements - At least six years of progressive systems administration or infrastructure experience, including ownership of production environments. - Hands-on expertise with CloudStack or comparable private cloud and virtualization, plus working experience with AWS or Google Cloud. - Advanced Microsoft 365 administration across identity, security, and device management. - Solid networking knowledge, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls. - Experience with security practices, backup and recovery, vulnerability management, scripting or automation, and SOC 2 or ISO 27001 support. - Strong judgment under pressure, sound decisions when requirements are unclear, and clear written and verbal communication.

Nice to have - Relevant degree or certifications in security, cloud administration, Microsoft 365, or networking. - Experience in software, telecommunications, or managed services, and with Terraform, Ansible, or similar configuration tools.

Benefits and work setup - Fully remote, based from a home office in Ontario, Canada; travel may reach 10%. - Annual salary range: CAD $75,000–$85,000.
