Fullstack Engineer (work from home in Medellin, Colombia)

Role overview A long-term contractor Fullstack Engineer position is open to candidates working from home in the Medellín, Colombia area. The role spans end-to-end feature work on modern web platforms, from responsive Vue.js interfaces through Python services and SQL-driven data layers, with opportunities to touch AI, machine learning, and video analysis capabilities. Responsibilities - Build user-facing features with Vue.js, Vuex/Pinia, and TypeScript, translating product concepts into intuitive experiences. - Partner with product, design, and QA to shape UI/UX strategy and ensure smooth delivery. - Design and maintain server applications in Python, including FastAPI-based services and microservices. - Write complex SQL queries (for example, with Trino or similar engines) and work with non-relational stores as needed. - Develop RESTful APIs and ensure clean integration between backend services and frontend components. - Produce thoroughly tested features, contribute to code reviews, and own code quality across the stack.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - 2–4 years of professional experience spanning frontend and backend development. - Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, TypeScript, Vue.js, Vuex/Pinia, and tooling like Webpack or Vite. - Strong Python skills with hands-on experience building and integrating APIs using FastAPI. - Solid SQL fluency and familiarity with database optimization across relational and non-relational systems. - Experience with microservices architecture, Git/GitHub workflows, and Agile delivery. - Strong English communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have - Postgraduate study in computer science or a related discipline. - Cloud experience on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. - Familiarity with Docker and containerization workflows. - Exposure to message queues and streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka. - Understanding of caching strategies and performance profiling tools. - Working knowledge of machine learning concepts and LLM frameworks.
