Role overview
A junior full stack developer position focused on designing, building, and maintaining web applications and microservices within an Agile delivery team that supports government programs. The work centers on AWS serverless architectures, Angular and TypeScript front-ends, and Java back-ends, with a strong emphasis on code quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Participate in sprint planning, story estimation, and commitment to user stories for each iteration. - Design, develop, test, and deploy web applications using Angular and TypeScript, alongside Java-based microservices. - Implement solutions using AWS native services and serverless technologies, and maintain overall code quality. - Conduct and participate in code reviews, recommending tools, technologies, and best practices that improve stability. - Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and diagrams that align with architectural standards. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments, and collaborate with architects, product teams, UX designers, project managers, and analysts.
Requirements
- Two to three years of application development experience, including equivalent time on AWS serverless architectures, native services, and containers. - Proficiency in Java and experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular, TypeScript, or React. - Familiarity with back-end frameworks like Node.js, scripting languages such as JavaScript or PHP, and databases including DynamoDB and Aurora DB. - Working knowledge of Git, API development and integration, DevOps and deployment, and testing and debugging practices. - Experience operating in Agile/Scrum environments using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence. - Bachelor's degree in a technical field, plus strong written and verbal communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration.

- Relevant professional certifications. - Experience with F5, NGINX, or Drupal, including relational database, ORM, and SQL concepts. - Hands-on use of Generative AI or AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. - Familiarity with embedding LLM capabilities such as AI-powered search, conversational interfaces, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation into web applications.
