Job details
About this role
Role overview
Own the full content cycle for a technical product: choose what to publish, create it, distribute it, measure results, and automate repeatable work. The role covers editorial and research content as well as organic and paid discovery, translating engineering work and product developments for both technical and general audiences.
Responsibilities
- Produce articles, essays, research stories, release notes, product emails, newsletters, social posts, ads, and occasional demo projects. - Interview engineers, customers, and company leaders, then shape their insights into accurate, attributed stories. - Publish across owned and third-party channels, adapting material for the audience and platform. - Build repeatable publishing and distribution workflows using AI tools, scripts, templates, and scheduling. - Manage SEO, generative search visibility, and paid campaigns; use analytics and ad platforms to track rankings, citations, backlinks, and returns. - Report how content performs, including its contribution to signups and other measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- A clear, factual writing style and a portfolio showing published work that attracted a real audience. - Ability to explain technical systems precisely to engineers and non-technical readers. - Interviewing skills, including drawing out a person's views and accurately quoting them. - Enough coding ability to script or automate parts of a production workflow. - Daily practical use of AI writing and coding tools, with judgment about prompting, quality, and when to revise outputs. - Hands-on experience with content distribution and SEO analytics, including search rankings, backlinks, and AI citations. - Self-directed planning: decide what to produce and keep scheduled work moving without needing a weekly brief.
Nice to have
- Experience marketing to skeptical audiences, writing influential research or essays, or producing and publishing video.
Benefits and work setup
- Access to original engineering research and ownership of the process from first draft through performance measurement. - AI tools and budget for regular production use, flexible hours, occasional team travel, and a conference and learning budget. - Health insurance; close collaboration with a small team and its founders.
