About this role

Role overview Lead developer relations for a platform focused on AI safety, reliability, and optimisation. You’ll help engineers and researchers discover and adopt its tools by combining technical storytelling, open-source launches, community-building, events, and ecosystem partnerships. The role calls for someone who can engage deeply with technical work while taking ownership of how it reaches developer audiences.

Responsibilities - Set the developer-relations direction and improve how technical audiences understand and adopt the platform and its tools. - Lead open-source and developer-tool launches, shaping the story, creating demonstrations, and coordinating release activities. - Write and publish technical material such as tutorials, walkthroughs, blog posts, demonstrations, and social posts. - Organise hackathons, meetups, and other technical events, primarily in San Francisco and New York. - Grow a community around open-source projects and establish collaborations with AI labs, developer-tool companies, and research teams. - Work with design and creative colleagues on technical input for product and promotional videos, and use adoption measures to refine the approach.

Requirements - Technical background in software engineering, machine learning, or research. - Experience at a technical product company; developer tools, infrastructure, databases, or AI are relevant areas. - Experience organising technical events, with evidence of attendance, participation, or outcomes. - An engaged audience among engineers or AI researchers on a professional or open-source platform. - Strong knowledge of AI developer tools, including coding agents, evaluation frameworks, and open-source models. - Ability to explain complex technical subjects clearly without oversimplifying; fluent English and a self-directed working style. - Based in the United States or able to work US hours; San Francisco or New York is preferred.

Nice to have - Led a technical launch or developer-relations effort that drove adoption. - Contributions to or maintenance of widely used open-source projects. - Existing relationships across AI research and developer communities. - Experience in AI safety, evaluation, or reliability.

Benefits and work setup - Compensation includes equity, with flexible time off and health insurance. - Mental-health support, including therapy coverage, and a 401(k) plan. - Support for learning, courses, and conferences, plus necessary hardware and software. - Team off-sites twice a year.
