Product Designer – Mid level (Remote, Europe)
Job details
About this role
Role overview Design experiences across a learning platform used by both the people who operate online schools and the learners who use them. You’ll move between interface improvements, complex workflows, AI-enabled features and shared design patterns, taking ideas from early exploration through delivery. The role suits a designer who can create momentum in ambiguous situations and use AI to extend their work while applying independent product judgment.
Responsibilities - Identify worthwhile product improvements across administrator and learner experiences, even when the problem is not yet fully defined. - Design and refine interfaces, interactions, end-to-end workflows, AI features and shared system patterns. - Evaluate ideas and prototypes from design, product, engineering, customer feedback and AI; decide what to pursue and explain the trade-offs. - Use AI to explore, prototype, learn unfamiliar areas, critique concepts and automate routine work; communicate what it contributed and what you changed. - Work closely with product managers, engineers, instructional designers and other designers, remaining involved through implementation. - Challenge ideas constructively, adapt when presented with better evidence, and contribute distinctive strengths to the team.
Requirements - Strong product and UI design craft, with the ability to take work from problem definition to delivery. - A portfolio showing your contribution, reasoning and the outcomes of your work; explain how AI informed your process where relevant. - Strong English for day-to-day collaboration. - Clear communication, autonomy and comfort moving work forward as priorities shift. - Good judgment about when to use established design patterns and when to change them. - Around three or more years of professional product design experience is expected, though demonstrated ability matters more than an exact tenure.
Nice to have - Professional experience with SaaS, B2B or other complex digital products.
Benefits and work setup - Remote work from within eligible European locations, with team gatherings a few times each year. Applicants must already have the right to work remotely from their country of residence; relocation and visa sponsorship are not offered. - Health and life insurance, an annual learning budget and a home-office allowance. - Laptop and monitor, 23 paid days off, and three early summer Fridays during July and August. - Access to workplace AI tools, team retreats and activities, and a free course-building school account.
