Role overview
Serve as a senior technical contributor shaping backend engineering practices and solving complex business problems for a digital-footprint product. You will design and operate reliable services, work closely with product and customer-facing partners, influence technical direction, and raise the effectiveness of engineers around you through mentorship and strong engineering judgment.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain reliable, reusable backend services and application components. - Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Customer Success partners to clarify requirements, define technical measures of success, and deliver incrementally. - Diagnose bottlenecks and defects, improving application performance, scalability, security, and operational resilience. - Establish automated testing and CI/CD practices that support dependable releases. - Provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers and contribute informed opinions on product, architecture, and engineering practices. - Participate in an on-call rotation and remain engaged with the product and its users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - At least 6 years of professional backend software development experience; full-stack knowledge is a plus. - Strong understanding of modern web technologies and large-scale data systems. - Deep experience with TypeScript, Node.js, messaging queues such as AWS SQS, and MongoDB. - Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with effective communication in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. - A customer-oriented approach and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality delivery.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask, along with Airflow, PostgreSQL, or NestJS. - Familiarity with artificial intelligence systems or products.
