Role overview
Join a decisioning and automated-underwriting engineering team building backend features and infrastructure that help dealerships deliver fast, flexible financing experiences. The work spans system architecture, product development, reliability, technical leadership, and collaboration across functions, with a strong emphasis on scalable solutions and engineering quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement maintainable, scalable software systems and high-impact backend capabilities. - Build product features primarily with Python and Django while contributing across the wider backend stack. - Improve reliability through comprehensive automated testing and sound operational practices. - Lead code reviews, resolve complex technical bottlenecks, and help establish strong development standards. - Partner with product and other engineering teams to turn product goals into dependable technical solutions. - Mentor developing engineers and use AI-assisted development thoughtfully to accelerate delivery.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience; a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred. - Deep proficiency in a modern programming language such as Python, Java, or Node.js. - Demonstrated experience designing, building, and delivering scalable solutions end to end. - Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform or CDK. - Advanced SQL skills and substantial experience with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle. - Experience building and deploying containers with Docker and Kubernetes, using Git-based pull request and code review workflows. - Evidence of mentoring developers, creating technical alignment, communicating clearly, and collaborating across teams.
Benefits and work setup
