About this role

Role overview A hands-on technical project management role at a professional services consultancy, embedded with a client to lead a core banking modernization initiative. The work is real client delivery rather than internal planning, and the path forward is expected to be ambiguous, so the role calls for someone who moves work forward without waiting for a complete playbook.

Responsibilities - Run day-to-day management of the modernization effort, including planning, tracking, and status reporting - Navigate shifting priorities and ambiguity with a clear bias for action - Build relationships across the client's organization, mapping decision rights and informal influence - Escalate progress, risks, and blockers confidently to senior leadership and executive sponsors - Coordinate across technical and business teams to keep work moving toward shared goals - Surface risks and dependencies early and resolve them before they become incidents - Translate technical detail into clear narratives that non-technical executives can act on - Develop and sustain trust with stakeholders at every level, from day-to-day contacts to executive sponsors

Requirements - Strong project management background with demonstrated organizational and communication skills - Proven success engaging stakeholders inside complex, multi-layered organizations - Direct experience in the financial industry, specifically domestic banking - Comfort reporting and escalating to senior and executive audiences - A bias for action, with a track record of moving work forward under imperfect conditions - Experience delivering on projects that lacked a fully defined playbook - Clear written and verbal communication across both technical and business audiences - Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build trust quickly - Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of specialized training and progressively responsible technology work experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis

Benefits and work setup - Competitive compensation tied to a professional services career path - Professional development support, including training and growth opportunities - Flexible work arrangements intended to help employees balance delivery commitments with personal needs - A collaborative culture that emphasizes creativity and continuous learning
