Backend Developer (PHP)

Role overview Develop backend services and APIs with PHP, contributing to systems designed for scalability, reliability, and maintainability. The role covers application architecture, data storage, deployment practices, and security, with work carried out independently and alongside a team.

Responsibilities - Build backend applications with PHP and a framework such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter. - Design REST APIs and contribute to microservices architecture. - Work with relational and non relational databases, including SQL and caching or document stores. - Apply security practices throughout backend development. - Use containers, orchestration, cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines to support delivery. - Collaborate in an agile environment to troubleshoot and improve services.

Requirements - Strong PHP experience and familiarity with at least one of the listed frameworks. - Knowledge of REST API design and microservices. - Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, plus MongoDB or Redis. - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. - Understanding of backend security practices and experience with a major cloud platform. - Intermediate or upper level English and ability to work independently and with a team.

Nice to have - GraphQL or gRPC experience. - Familiarity with event driven design and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka. - Remote work and agile team experience.
