Lead Product Designer (San Francisco, Remote)

Role overview Lead product design for complex workflows in a data-rich platform used by insurance professionals. You’ll take problems from research through delivery, help the product expand into new areas, and shape how AI supports decisions while keeping users informed and in control.

Responsibilities - Lead discovery, research, design, delivery, and iteration for complex, cross-platform product challenges. - Turn ambiguous problems and new business needs into clear product direction with product, client success, and sales partners. - Design information-dense workflows that help underwriters identify relevant evidence and make decisions confidently. - Define how AI communicates confidence and sources, and how users retain control over decisions. - Create reusable design patterns that support expansion into additional workflows without fragmenting the experience. - Prototype rapidly, validate concepts, and raise team standards through critique and mentorship.

Requirements - At least seven years designing digital products for B2B, data-rich, or productivity software. - Experience in a fast-scaling environment with a strong sense of ownership, and experience designing AI-powered tools. - A record of extending an existing platform to support new workflows and user needs. - A portfolio demonstrating the ability to simplify complexity and create clear interfaces and interactions. - Systems thinking and experience contributing to design systems. - Strong visual design, attention to hierarchy and layout, and clear collaboration and communication skills. - Curiosity, adaptability, and comfort working through ambiguity.

Nice to have - Experience with Material UI or a comparable design system. - Work in insurance technology, financial technology, or another regulated field; technical experience or interest in how products are built.
