Job details
About this role
Role overview Take part in paid, recorded discussions with another experienced research professional to explore how UX researchers make decisions and interpret evidence. The conversations support AI training and evaluation, using fictional or anonymized examples rather than sensitive participant or project information.
Responsibilities - Discuss research planning, participant recruitment, interviewing, usability studies, and synthesis. - Compare methods for different research questions, timelines, and product decisions. - Explain and defend interpretations of fictional findings, including limitations and uncertainty. - Examine assumptions, consider alternative explanations, and respond constructively to critique. - Explore how to communicate findings when evidence is incomplete or stakeholders disagree.
Requirements - Professional experience in UX or user research, human factors, or a related research field. - Hands-on experience designing and conducting studies and communicating results. - Fluency in the language used for the discussion. - Ability to distinguish observations from interpretations and support conclusions with evidence. - Comfort with an unscripted, substantive conversation that includes disagreement. - A quiet setting, reliable internet, clear microphone, and webcam; participants should be comfortable appearing on video with their face visible and without filters or background blur.
Benefits and work setup Remote independent-contractor assignments pay $40–$100 per hour. After an initial screening, selected applicants are invited to a paid conversation. Rate, expected time commitment, and recording-use and licensing terms are shared before accepting an assignment; recordings may be licensed to AI developers under those agreed terms.
