Role overview A software company serving government, healthcare, and emergency management organizations is hiring a Project Manager to lead federal and Department of War engagements. The role sits within a professional services team that delivers SaaS implementations, integrations, and related training and documentation to clients. The position reports to the Director of Professional Services and can be based in Atlanta, the Washington DC metro area, or remote, with approximately 25% travel expected.
Responsibilities - Act as the primary client advisor and point of contact across multiple concurrent software implementation and enhancement projects of varying length. - Manage scope, budget, and go-live timelines, anticipating issues and negotiating solutions that protect schedule and cost commitments. - Identify and document execution, client, and resource risks, then drive mitigation and contingency plans to closure. - Own project financials including planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and accurate revenue recognition. - Partner with delivery leaders to allocate staff by skill set and coordinate with sales and client success teams on retention, growth, and RFP responses. - Collaborate with product engineering on integrations and custom enhancements, and handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree. - At least 4 years of technology project management experience and 3 years in client-facing project management roles. - Active Public Trust clearance or eligibility to pass a PTSC background check, plus U.S. Person status under Export Administration Regulations. - Domain exposure in one or more of: emergency management, federal/state/local government, healthcare, education, defense, aviation, or transportation. - Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with a firm grasp of executive-level financial reporting. - Demonstrated ability to manage risk, resolve conflicts, and prioritize competing deadlines, with willingness to travel roughly 25%.
Nice to have - PMP or comparable certification (or willingness to obtain PMP within 12 months of hire). - Agile project management experience. - Situational leadership skills and familiarity with NetSuite.
