Job details
About this role
Role overview Establish the data science function for a healthcare diagnostics product, setting the standards for how data is measured, modeled and evaluated. This is a hands-on and strategic role: you will lead statistical and modeling work across clinical workflows and AI-enabled features, then help turn findings into reliable product and business decisions.
Responsibilities - Set the research and modeling roadmap for priority opportunities in diagnostics, clinical workflows and AI-enabled products. - Design sound measurement, experimentation and causal evaluation methods to distinguish meaningful effects from noise. - Develop predictive models, segmentation methods and risk or routing logic that inform decisions. - Build and validate the analytical foundations of customer-facing features, tracking their performance over time. - Work with data and software engineering teams to move analyses and prototypes into dependable production workflows. - Explain methods, limitations, findings and tradeoffs to technical teams and business leaders.
Requirements - Track record of leading high-impact analytical work that shaped product, operational or business decisions. - Strong knowledge of statistical inference, experimental design, observational analysis and model evaluation. - Proficiency in Python and/or R, including work with large, messy real-world datasets. - Experience developing predictive or decision-support models for production or near-production use. - Experience partnering with engineers to deploy analytical work into software systems. - Ability to set direction while staying hands-on, communicate clearly with varied stakeholders and work with substantial ownership in an ambiguous environment.
Nice to have - Research study design, execution or publication experience; familiarity with clinical privacy or regulatory frameworks. - Experience with data warehouses, orchestration and transformation workflows. - Experience evaluating or deploying LLM and other AI features, working with clinical or diagnostic data, or applying causal inference methods.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first work for people physically based in GMT or EST time zones; visa sponsorship is not available. - Salary listed in the source ranges from $180,000 to $220,000 depending on location and experience, plus equity. - The package includes 36 days of paid time off including bank holidays, healthcare coverage, a monthly pension or 401(k) contribution, and enhanced family leave. - Additional support includes learning and wellness budgets, home office equipment and coworking allowances, and team offsites.
