Job details
About this role
Role overview
This Entrepreneur in Residence and Product Lead role drives strategy for an early-stage, open-source developer tooling project focused on a declarative programming language for AI-spec-driven development. The position works alongside the technical founder to take the product from alpha into real-world adoption and production readiness, blending founder-level product ownership with a hands-on engineering partnership. The work focuses on deeply understanding developer workflows, identifying what is genuinely worth building, and turning those insights into a clear roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy, validate key hypotheses, and decide what to build first. - Run continuous discovery through conversations with developers and customers to surface real pain points. - Define the initial scope, identify the ideal customer profile, and prioritize zero-to-one development work. - Shape go-to-market, including positioning, messaging, and launch plans. - Track competitors, adjacent tools, AI developments, and broader market trends. - Work closely with a small engineering team to keep execution focused and aligned in a highly ambiguous environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience with end-to-end ownership of strategy, discovery, and delivery. - Startup experience is required, ideally in small teams, with a strong zero-to-one shipping record. - Experience with developer tools or AI products is required. - High autonomy, speed, and comfort making decisions with limited information. - Strong technical fluency with the ability to collaborate closely with engineers; coding experience is a plus. - Founder, co-founder, C-level, or comparable experience is a strong advantage.
Nice to have
- Background in go-to-market, marketing, product launches, developer advocacy, or public speaking.
Benefits and work setup
Foundational work at the intersection of programming languages and AI, tackling deep problems such as language design, formal specifications, tooling, and AI agents. The role offers founder-style autonomy with the engineering culture and long-term mindset of an established tooling organization. The employer is an equal opportunity employer committed to an open and inclusive workplace.
