Senior Solution Architect

Role overview

Join a distributed consulting engineering team as a Senior Solution Architect focused on designing scalable, production-grade systems for large enterprise clients. The role spans end-to-end architecture for cloud platforms, distributed backends, APIs, and data flows, with a senior technical authority remit across multiple client engagements. You will define architectural standards, guide complex implementations, and partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable systems in production.

Responsibilities

- Architect end-to-end solutions for enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and distributed backend systems, including services, APIs, integrations, and data stores. - Design cloud-native and hybrid architectures covering compute, networking, storage, identity, and event-driven or streaming data flows. - Lead modernization of legacy systems into maintainable, scalable architectures while guiding CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and operational readiness. - Provide architectural leadership to delivery teams, run design reviews, and mentor engineers on scalable system design. - Translate complex business requirements from client stakeholders into scalable technical architectures and support scoping during project planning. - Track advances in distributed systems and cloud platforms, contribute to internal standards, and drive continuous improvements in scalability, resilience, and efficiency.

Requirements

- 10+ years in software engineering, distributed systems, or backend architecture, including 5+ years owning system design end to end. - Demonstrated experience architecting large-scale, production-grade systems with deep knowledge of microservices, APIs, and integration patterns. - Strong programming background in Python, Java, C#, C++, or comparable languages, plus hands-on work with AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, relational and non-relational data stores, and data modeling or pipelines. - Working knowledge of security, performance, observability, and cost as first-class architectural concerns. - Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, plus strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Nice to have

- Background in client-facing consulting or professional services for enterprise-scale systems. - Pre-sales experience including solution shaping, technical proposals, and delivery estimation. - Legacy modernization or replatforming work inside large enterprises. - Infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi, plus platform engineering practices. - Designing systems under regulatory constraints such as SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, or PCI DSS. - High-throughput or low-latency systems, systems-level engineering, or relevant cloud architect certifications.
