Senior Android BSP Engineer

Role overview Develop and troubleshoot system software for embedded products built on Android and Linux, working close to hardware rather than on application features. You will contribute across the platform stack—from board bring-up and hardware integration to native components and validation—helping deliver stable performance, connectivity, and multimedia behavior.

Responsibilities - Customize AOSP-based platform software and develop Android board support packages for embedded audio devices. - Implement or integrate HAL layers, native C/C++ components, system services, and JNI/NDK interfaces. - Support Android platform upgrades and keep embedded builds aligned with newer releases. - Integrate hardware interfaces and peripheral drivers; investigate kernel and device communication issues. - Debug boot, performance, memory, power, threading, IPC, and hardware interaction problems using suitable diagnostic tools. - Participate in board bring-up and platform validation on ARM and Qualcomm-based or other embedded hardware, collaborating with hardware and product teams.

Requirements - At least 7 years of embedded software development, including 2 or more years in Embedded Android, AOSP, or platform-level Android work. - Strong C and C++ skills for low-level, native, and performance-sensitive software. - Practical knowledge of Android BSP and build systems, HAL, HIDL/AIDL, Android.bp/Android.mk, and Soong/Ninja. - Experience with Android NDK, JNI, Binder, and IPC methods such as sockets or shared memory. - Understanding of embedded Linux, kernel interfaces, device drivers, and hardware communication. - Familiarity with debugging tools such as ADB, GDB, Valgrind, Systrace/Perfetto, or protocol analyzers. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, or a related technical field.
