Director, Financial Communications Designer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior design role shaping the visual narrative behind a public company's financial communications, from quarterly investor decks and board materials to investor days and industry conferences. The position sits at the intersection of design craft, financial literacy, and emerging-technology storytelling, partnering directly with C-level executives and the broader Brand team. The work is remote with occasional travel (up to 10%) and targets high-stakes, sophisticated audiences.
Responsibilities - Design story-driven keynote presentations and boardroom decks for the CFO and senior executives, translating dense financial and technical content into clear, persuasive visuals. - Build clean, purposeful data visualizations, including charts, roadmaps, and performance dashboards, that let investors and analysts grasp complex metrics at a glance. - Lead end-to-end design for investor events, covering slide content, invitations, email, IR portal assets, signage, and on-site collateral that meet unified brand standards. - Develop and maintain shared templates, chart libraries, and design systems that empower non-designers on Finance and IR teams to produce on-brand materials independently. - Translate technology milestones into investor-facing narratives, quickly absorbing unfamiliar technical material and distilling it into consumable visuals. - Explore AI-driven design workflows (prompting, automation, efficiency) while maintaining a high quality bar, and present creative rationale confidently to senior stakeholders.
Requirements - 12+ years of professional experience in visual design, presentation design, or visual communication in a fast-paced environment. - Portfolio demonstrating strong fundamentals in typography, layout, and color across presentation, digital, and print media, with the ability to articulate design rationale. - Exceptional PowerPoint skills, mastery of Figma, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator). - Track record presenting creative work to senior executives and navigating stakeholder feedback and ambiguity with poise. - Strong time and project management; ability to triage competing priorities and deliver high volume without sacrificing quality. - Discretion with sensitive and confidential information, including material non-public financial data; familiarity with AI principles for design.
Nice to have - Prior experience supporting Investor Relations, corporate finance, or a public-company earnings cycle. - Motion graphics capability in After Effects or comparable tools. - Hands-on experience with AI design tools beyond image generation.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role with up to 10% travel. - Work directly with executive leadership, including the CFO and Head of Investor Relations. - Equity, justice, and equal-opportunity employment practices; commitment to fair treatment and a respectful, inclusive culture.
