About this role
Role overview
This Creative Technologist role sits on a brand and creative team responsible for turning approved client website designs into live, maintainable production sites. The position blends hands-on engineering with creative judgment, directing AI-assisted code generation tools to produce components and pages, reviewing their output, and ensuring every release meets visual and quality standards. It is a builder role with end-to-end ownership of the pipeline from design through CMS-driven content updates, plus ongoing site stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Convert approved Figma designs into production-ready components and pages, primarily using AI-assisted code generation and Figma-to-code tooling. - Review, test, and refine AI-generated code before merge, catching issues in hierarchy, responsive behavior, calls to action, and overall implementation quality. - Build and maintain a shared component library and code-owned design tokens that stay on-brand for each client. - Own the deployment pipeline from Git through a headless CMS, including branching, pull requests, build verification, publishing, and troubleshooting failed builds. - Manage client content update cycles: configure which fields are client-editable, run draft/preview/publish workflows, and keep layout code-owned. - Monitor site performance, Core Web Vitals, image delivery, accessibility, metadata, redirects, canonical URLs, sitemap behavior, analytics, and approved tracking integrations. - Serve as the technical point of contact for client site requests, partnering with the creative lead on each account.
Requirements
- At least 2 years building and shipping production websites. - Hands-on production experience directing AI coding tools and a good sense of when their output needs rework. - Fluency with Git-based workflows: branching, pull requests, code review, and conflict resolution. - Experience with modern static site frameworks and a headless CMS, including content modeling. - Practical experience provisioning and troubleshooting with AWS services such as Amplify, S3, and CloudFront. - Working knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA). - Strong visual and web judgment, with the ability to spot when typography, spacing, responsive behavior, imagery, or interaction does not match the approved design or feels unready for production. - Clear communication with designers, clients, and engineers who do not share your context.
Nice to have
- Figma-to-code tooling experience with products like Figma Dev Mode, Builder.io, or Anima. - Familiarity with design token systems such as Style Dictionary. - Background in financial services, regulated industries, or agency work. - A design background or a portfolio demonstrating both design and build capability.
Benefits and work setup
- Base salary range of $65,000 to $80,000 annually, with annual cash bonus and equity eligibility where applicable; actual compensation depends on experience, skills, scope, and location. - Fully remote work environment based in the United States; candidates must be legally authorized to work there. - Health, dental, and vision insurance including HSA, FSA, and DCA options. - 401(k) plan, flexible time off, company holidays, and an additional paid volunteer day. - Supplemental insurance programs (voluntary life, accident, critical illness, pet), an Employee Assistance Program, and wellness offerings. - Growth and development programs. - Remote-first culture expecting self-motivation, proactive communication, and on-camera participation; the team spans US and European time zones, so some early mornings or late afternoons are expected.
