About this role
Role overview This director-level role owns the strategy, architecture, security, and day-to-day operations of AWS cloud infrastructure and DevOps capabilities for a healthcare communications and marketing organization. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with people and program management, partnering closely with engineering, security, and IT teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and cost-effective technology services.
Responsibilities - Lead the design, implementation, and operation of AWS infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, databases, identity, and access management. - Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, logging, alerting, backup, and disaster-recovery capabilities. - Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting development, testing, security scanning, and production deployment. - Own release and deployment processes across dev, staging, and production, including automation, validation, and rollback procedures. - Govern the SaaS ecosystem, including provisioning, user lifecycle management, role and permission reviews, and license management. - Manage cloud cost optimization through monitoring, forecasting, and resource utilization analysis. - Partner with security and compliance teams on IAM, secrets management, encryption, vulnerability management, audits, and regulatory requirements. - Monitor environments, troubleshoot production incidents, and lead root-cause analysis and remediation. - Support occasional off-hours deployments and releases as needed.
Requirements - 8+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or DevOps, with demonstrated ownership of production environments. - Strong, practical AWS design and operational experience. - Scripting and automation skills in Python or TypeScript. - Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. - Experience with containerization and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes. - Background designing modern CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows. - Experience with release management, deployment automation, rollback procedures, and production troubleshooting. - Familiarity with SaaS administration, user provisioning, access management, and lifecycle management. - Cloud cost management and optimization experience.
Nice to have - AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer.
