About this role
Role overview A hands-on DevOps role owning build, release, and deployment workflows for a mobile and web product in the sports training space. The engineer partners with a small, fully remote team to keep releases reliable across React Native, Expo, Next.js, and Supabase while stepping into bug fixes and UI updates when needed. It is a long-term contract position with broad ownership of release engineering and developer experience.
Responsibilities - Manage, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and deployment workflows for mobile and web applications. - Build and improve GitHub Actions workflows including automated testing and release checks. - Manage iOS and Android builds and releases through Expo/EAS, App Store Connect, and Google Play Console. - Configure and manage over-the-air updates, versioning strategies, and release environments. - Support A/B testing frameworks and automated testing integrations. - Improve developer tooling and Supabase services supporting Next.js and React applications. - Troubleshoot build and deployment failures and resolve React Native bugs and UI issues as priorities evolve.
Requirements - 3+ years of DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience focused on mobile and web platforms. - Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Expo, EAS, and React Native. - Proven experience managing production releases through both App Store Connect and Google Play Console. - Experience configuring versioning strategies, OTA updates, and A/B testing environments. - Proficiency with Supabase and the Next.js and React ecosystems. - Ability to make React Native code changes, including bug fixes and UI updates. - Strong troubleshooting skills, ownership mindset, and comfort with shifting priorities in a small startup team.
Nice to have - Experience supporting automated end-to-end and integration tests in CI/CD. - Experience implementing 3D graphics in mobile applications outside gaming. - Experience developing for hardware sensors or integrating sensor data. - Meaningful engineering ownership of shipped cross-platform products. - Interest in product design, user experience, and software quality. - A personal interest in sports or skills training.
