About this role
Role overview
This contract role focuses on designing, building, deploying, and operating LLM-powered agents and AI features used by real customers. The engineer works across the full product lifecycle, translating business needs into measurable outcomes and owning reliability, quality, cost, and improvement after launch.
Responsibilities
- Build agentic workflows involving tool use, structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-step orchestration, and human review. - Create and maintain governed tool layers and MCP servers that connect agents to business data and systems. - Establish evaluations, golden datasets, telemetry, prompt and model versioning, provider routing, fallbacks, and cost controls. - Deliver production services through testing, CI/CD, containerized deployments, monitoring, and rollback processes. - Contribute to shared AI platform capabilities such as agent templates, LLM gateways, and observability. - Partner with stakeholders to prioritize use cases, define success metrics, and determine when an agent is appropriate.
Requirements
- At least five years of software engineering experience with production systems you have designed, shipped, and supported. - Demonstrated experience delivering LLM agents or agentic workflows to real users. - Practical knowledge of agent frameworks or SDKs such as Claude Agent SDK, Pydantic AI, LangGraph, or comparable tools. - Experience building MCP servers or equivalent tool layers and retrieval pipelines over complex data. - Strong Python and SQL skills, with comfort working in TypeScript/Node.js. - Production experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, testing, observability, and multiple LLM providers, including AWS Bedrock. - Product-oriented judgment, measurable business thinking, and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with LLM observability or gateway tooling, contact and company data, FinOps, cloud operations, Kafka, Temporal, or similar workflow systems. - Experience replacing no-code or workflow-tool automations with maintainable production code.
