About this role
Role overview This is a remote, contract role for a graphic designer who specializes in turning dense, abstract ideas into clear, story-driven visuals. The designer will work alongside instructional designers to shape learning experiences where a single image carries meaning, partnering with AI tools as part of an exploratory creative process.
Responsibilities - Translate instructional content into visual concepts, storyboards, and learning assets - Design static graphics, infographics, and course materials that communicate independently of surrounding text - Work with instructional designers to identify the best visual angle for each learning objective - Co-create with AI design tools to brainstorm, accelerate production, and push creative boundaries - Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and consistent visual quality
Requirements - Proficiency in Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop - Solid foundation in composition, typography, and color theory - Demonstrated experience with data visualization, including charts, infographics, and explanatory diagrams - A visual storytelling instinct and the ability to find a narrative inside a dataset - Genuine enthusiasm for AI tools, with a habit of experimenting and integrating them into the design workflow - Strong self-organization skills and the ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects
Nice to have - Interest in distilling complex or abstract topics, such as climate change, into a single compelling image - Comfort working as part of a globally distributed creative team
