Role overview A remote, U.S.-based opportunity for a senior HRIS analyst to act as the in-house Workday subject matter expert. The position leads configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of Workday across a global footprint, partnering closely with HR, Finance, Benefits, and IT to deliver reliable HR business processes and integrations.
Responsibilities - Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday modules spanning Core HCM, Absence Management, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Performance & Talent, and Time Tracking. - Troubleshoot operational issues such as time-off inconsistencies, absence plan discrepancies, and benefit-related integration failures, and triage incoming support tickets. - Build, support, and troubleshoot inbound and outbound integrations using Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Cloud Connectors, Workday Studio, and Workday APIs. - Develop custom reports and dashboards, including Discovery Boards and Workday Hubs, and provision system access for stakeholders. - Lead configuration work for annual merit and compensation cycles, as well as U.S. open enrollment and global benefits compliance. - Plan and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; maintain process documentation, playbooks, end-user training, and case notes in a service management tool.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of HRIS experience with hands-on Workday configuration and global implementation work. - Deep knowledge of Workday foundational concepts, business processes, security, reporting, calculated fields, and EIBs. - Demonstrated experience supporting multiple Workday modules including HCM, Absence, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Performance & Talent, Time Tracking, and Reporting. - Proficiency with Workday integration tooling (Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, SOAP/REST APIs) and technologies such as XML, XSLT, JSON, and web services. - Ability to operate independently on complex problems, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, and manage stakeholder expectations.
Nice to have - Workday Pro Certification. - Experience with integration middleware or iPaaS platforms such as Boomi or Workato. - Familiarity experimenting with AI-driven tools (for example, Workday Agents, Co-Pilot, or Claude) to automate or improve HR processes. - Experience mentoring peers on Workday functionality, reporting, and HRIS best practices.
