About this role
Role overview
High-leverage software engineering role for someone who builds the systems that let AI agents deliver complete product work with increasing autonomy. Rather than optimizing individual coding speed, you will remove bottlenecks across planning, implementation, verification, and release so a lean engineering group can produce reliable enterprise software at exceptional throughput.
Responsibilities
- Build and continuously improve the tools, skills, context, rules, and self-checking harnesses used by coding agents. - Enable agents to execute complete workflows with less human intervention over time. - Work closely with product leadership to turn customer and product insight into rapidly delivered software. - Balance vision alignment, leverage-building, feature delivery, review, and team multiplication according to current needs. - Enforce quality through AI review, human review, testing, and evaluation practices. - Identify architectural and delivery risks before they affect customers, then share improvements across the team.
Requirements
- Exceptional software engineering judgment and the ability to own outcomes across the full delivery lifecycle. - Proven ability to design systems that make AI agents more autonomous, reliable, and productive. - Strong understanding of quality standards, regression prevention, technical risk, and enterprise-grade delivery. - Ability to operate independently, make decisions quickly, and work effectively with product leadership. - Willingness to mentor engineers and multiply team capability through reusable practices and tooling.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully remote, async-first position with a stated compensation of $200,000 USD per year. - Startup-style delivery cadence within an enterprise environment, with outcomes measured weekly. - Access to flexible model, agent, compute, and tooling choices when they improve delivery or quality. - Success is measured by reliable software shipped, reduced human intervention, consistently met quality gates, and risks surfaced early.
