Senior Software Engineer - Core Platform (Ruby/Rails)

Role overview Join a remote-first cybersecurity team protecting millions of endpoints and identities worldwide, building the foundational components that power the entire product suite. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Core Platform team, you will own complex projects end-to-end while raising the bar for code quality, scalability, and maintainability. The platform spans notification systems, onboarding and activation, authentication, user experience, and APIs.

Responsibilities - Own and drive projects from engineering design through coding, testing, and rollout. - Work across the full stack, including frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure, to deliver secure and scalable solutions. - Break down complex work into actionable milestones and stories for the team to execute. - Hold a high bar for code quality, scalability, and maintainability through automated testing, code reviews, and pairing. - Propose team-level technical solutions and contribute to new innovations on the platform. - Mentor, coach, and provide actionable feedback to help up-level engineers across the team.

Requirements - 8+ years of experience developing complex, scalable software products. - 5+ years of expertise in Ruby on Rails focused on maintainable, efficient code. - Proficiency in full-stack development with JavaScript, CSS, and modern Rails frontend frameworks such as Stimulus, Turbo, or Hotwire. - Strong background in Linux-based infrastructure, databases like Postgres or ClickHouse, and integrating with external APIs. - Demonstrated ability to break epics into actionable milestones and stories. - Collaborative mindset with Agile experience and a proactive, responsible approach to AI-assisted development. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have - Experience with AWS cloud environments. - Background working in a Ruby on Rails monolith. - Familiarity with Tailwind UI.
