Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

Role overview

Build and support data, reporting, workflow, and application solutions that help business teams make decisions and run recurring processes. The work spans complex SQL analysis, Power BI reporting, Power Platform development, and data engineering in Databricks. You will partner with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, clarify ambiguous requests, and contribute to platform modernization and emerging AI and machine learning work.

Responsibilities

- Maintain data pipelines, reporting datasets, dashboard refreshes, and recurring analytics assets. - Investigate source systems, data definitions, ownership, and lineage to shape solutions for incoming requests. - Write complex SQL to extract, transform, summarize, and analyze data from multiple sources. - Develop dashboards, semantic models, paginated reports, and analytical products using Power BI tools. - Build or support PowerApps applications and Power Automate flows for workflows, approvals, notifications, and reporting tasks. - Develop Databricks pipelines, transformations, and workflows; support modernization and new AI or machine learning use cases.

Requirements

- Undergraduate degree. - At least 5 years of SQL experience, including complex queries across multiple data sources. - At least 2 years building or maintaining Databricks data engineering pipelines, workflows, and transformations. - Experience developing dashboards, semantic models, and paginated reports with Power BI or comparable tools. - Experience supporting PowerApps solutions and Power Automate workflows. - Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to turn unclear requests into practical solutions.

Nice to have

- Advanced degree; Python or PySpark experience; exposure to healthcare data, AI or machine learning, generative AI, or retrieval-augmented generation.

- Full-time remote work. Home internet should support at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload, and the role requires a dedicated, interruption-free workspace to protect sensitive information. Telephone equipment is provided; some locations are eligible for an internet expense payment. - The listed annual base pay range is $89,000–$121,400, with eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
