Job details
About this role
Role overview Design and improve the context that guides a language model’s responses: its instructions, information sources, tools, and conversational memory. You will evaluate changes systematically so the product’s answers become more useful, reliable, and natural across Dutch and other languages. The role works closely with product, engineering, and AI research colleagues, with findings also informing training data.
Responsibilities - Write and maintain model instructions and conversational style across Dutch and other languages. - Design how the system searches the web and documents, selects sources, and incorporates information into responses. - Describe tools and integrations so the model can choose and use them effectively, including in long conversations. - Build evaluation sets, assess answer quality, and compare results across models to measure the effects of changes. - Share insights about effective conversations with product, engineering, and AI research partners and contribute to training data.
Requirements - Experience building language-model applications involving prompts, retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, or agents. - Enjoyment of Python and a preference for measuring outcomes over relying on intuition alone. - Strong writing skills and sensitivity to both factual correctness and the quality of how an answer reads. - Fluency in Dutch and English. - Residence in the Netherlands.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time remote work, with a headquarters in Groningen. - Salary described as competitive and at the top of the market. - Team gatherings abroad twice a year, each lasting a week. - Direct influence on the conversational behavior of an AI product used daily.
