Senior Backend Engineer, AI Platform - 100% Remote - EMEA

Role overview

A fully remote senior backend engineering role on an AI team building customer-facing features for a vacation rental management platform. The position focuses on integrating AI services, models, and orchestration into a SaaS product by designing APIs, services, and user experiences that make AI useful to property managers and guests. Candidates must reside within the EMEA region to collaborate with distributed peers.

Responsibilities

- Design and build backend services that wrap AI capabilities into polished, customer-facing features. - Develop performant, scalable REST APIs and services that connect model outputs to existing SaaS workflows. - Partner with product, design, frontend, platform, and integration teams to ship intuitive AI-driven experiences. - Implement production-grade observability, monitoring, and error handling for AI services. - Contribute to the evolving AI integration stack, including Python SDKs, MCP servers, and LLM orchestration tooling.

Requirements

- Five or more years of backend engineering experience, ideally in a SaaS environment. - Strong Python proficiency and experience building REST APIs and SaaS integrations. - Familiarity with LLM and AI tooling such as LangChain, Vercel AI SDK, or MCP servers. - Comfort working alongside Python-based AI services and bridging different technology stacks. - Strong collaboration skills for partnering with product and platform teams across the organization.
