Remote job
Senior Engineering Manager, Clients Team
Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead a client platform engineering organization responsible for the containerized software that runs inside customer environments to power autonomous security assessments. The role combines people leadership, technical direction, and product ownership for two sub-teams focused on image build/release pipelines and over-the-air update delivery at scale.
Responsibilities - Grow and mentor a platform organization to roughly ten engineers across image build and over-the-air update functions, directly managing the two sub-team engineering managers. - Define engineering norms, code review standards, and a culture of ownership appropriate for software deployed into environments the team cannot directly observe. - Own end-to-end CI/CD pipelines that produce, sign, and publish a container runner image, including supply-chain security practices such as reproducible builds, image signing, SBOM generation, and vulnerability scanning. - Architect and operate the over-the-air update system that keeps deployed runners current across many customer environments, including staged rollouts, rollback, and delivery verification. - Partner closely with security research to integrate new assessment capabilities into the runner, and act as product owner alongside product managers, researchers, and customer success. - Drive high-impact architecture decisions through design documents, structured reviews, and consensus, accounting for variability in customer environments.
Requirements - Demonstrated experience leading teams that design, build, and operate containerized software (Docker, virtual machine images) deployed into on-premise or customer-managed environments. - Hands-on background with software supply chain security, including image signing tools (such as cosign or Notary), reproducible builds, SBOMs, and CI-based vulnerability scanning. - Experience designing and operating over-the-air update mechanisms for distributed agents or edge software at scale, including staged rollouts, rollback, and delivery verification. - Ability to reason about correctness in opaque, customer-controlled environments where failure modes cannot be directly observed. - Track record of building or significantly growing engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, and establishing norms tailored to shipped software. - Proficiency in Go.
Nice to have - Familiarity with staged rollout frameworks, fleet management systems, or edge device software patterns. - Background in offensive security, penetration testing operations, or security assessment tooling.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote company; minimum 25 Mbps consumer broadband connection required. - Competitive salary with potential eligibility for an equity package in the form of stock options. - Health, vision, and dental coverage for employee and family, flexible vacation policy, and generous parental leave.
