Technical Release Coordinator

About this role
Role overview Coordinate technology releases across multiple teams and applications in a fully remote position. The role owns release schedules, readiness activities, deployment communications, change-management documentation, and post-release reviews, partnering closely with development, Scrum, infrastructure, project leaders, and business stakeholders to ensure releases are properly planned, tested, approved, deployed, and validated.
Responsibilities - Coordinate regularly scheduled releases, out-of-cycle deployments, and emergency fixes across multiple teams and applications. - Facilitate release-planning meetings covering scope, sequencing, timelines, dependencies, and deployment requirements. - Develop and document release plans including scope, deliverables, testing and validation requirements, implementation steps, and risk-mitigation and rollback plans. - Establish readiness criteria, maintain the consolidated release and configuration calendar, and track work through the change-ticket lifecycle. - Prepare for and participate in Change Advisory Board meetings, deployment-planning sessions, and implementation-readiness reviews. - Direct off-hours deployment activities, including coordination, status reporting, issue escalation, mock deployments, pre-production checklists, and post-production verification. - Coordinate infrastructure provisioning and environment readiness, and provide guidance on code-branching and merge strategies. - Lead release-review meetings, capture lessons learned, and continuously improve build, configuration, change, and release-management processes.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience. - More than five years of technology experience, including one to four years coordinating projects or releases across multiple teams. - Hands-on software development experience using object-oriented programming concepts, plus familiarity with code merges, branching strategies, build processes, and deployments. - Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience with change-management processes and production deployments. - General understanding of Agile development practices and ITIL practices. - Willingness to participate in scheduled off-hours, weekend, or emergency release activities.
Nice to have - Experience coordinating releases in a complex enterprise environment. - Familiarity with automated build and deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and release-management tooling. - Background supporting Change Advisory Board processes and IT governance controls, plus infrastructure or environment provisioning. - Knowledge of configuration management, source control, and production validation practices.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote position. - Listed salary range of $89,800-$125,500 USD, commensurate with experience, location, and other factors.
