Software Engineer, Backend & Distributed Systems (REMOTE)

Role overview Help build, test, deploy, and maintain backend software and distributed services used by customers and internal teams. This is an early-career engineering role with opportunities to contribute across the development lifecycle, collaborate in an agile team, and grow technical skills while supporting reliable production applications.

Responsibilities - Implement and maintain software, following established engineering practices. - Participate in testing, deployment, production monitoring, and ongoing support. - Work with teammates to plan and deliver changes through agile processes. - Help improve application security, resilience, performance, and observability. - Investigate issues using debugging and root cause analysis, and contribute to team learning.

Requirements - At least 18 years of age and legally permitted to work in the United States. - A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent education. - At least one year of relevant work experience.

Nice to have - One to three years of relevant experience and familiarity with an object-oriented language such as Java. - Exposure to event-driven systems, message streaming, NoSQL databases, SQL, or large-scale data analysis. - Experience with microservices, cloud platforms, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and application security. - Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, or AI-based developer tools.

Benefits and work setup - No travel is required. The role is primarily performed indoors in a comfortable working environment. - The posted pay range for certain listed U.S. locations is $50,000–$130,000.
