Staff Engineer, New Products

Role overview Guide the architecture and hands-on development of new products for a healthcare technology platform. This senior engineering role spans system design, backend and frontend implementation, and external service integrations, with a focus on scalable, reliable features and practical uses of AI that improve experiences for care providers and patients. You’ll work across product, design, data, and engineering, shaping technical direction while mentoring others.

Responsibilities - Lead technical design and implementation of new product features and greenfield systems. - Build across frontend and backend components and integrate third-party services. - Explore AI capabilities such as intelligent automation and data-driven insights to address customer needs. - Set technical direction with attention to scalability, reliability, usability, and business goals. - Partner with cross-functional teams to select and deliver high-impact work. - Mentor engineers and translate complex technical challenges into useful product outcomes.

Requirements - At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including developing and deploying production AI or machine learning systems at scale. - Practical experience with machine learning models, natural language processing, and intelligent automation. - Experience with the listed stack: Rails, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, RSpec, and Capybara. - Strong background in software architecture, systems design, and scalable infrastructure. - Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate across disciplines. - Comfort balancing long-term design decisions with fast execution in a changing environment.

Nice to have - Ability to explain AI concepts clearly and connect AI work to practical user and business needs. - Interest in applying technology to healthcare.

Benefits and work setup - Full-time, remote role based in the United States; U.S. work authorization is required, and sponsorship is not available. - Listed base salary range: $205,000–$235,000.
