Role overview
Design and shape business applications and information systems by translating business needs and architecture decisions into practical technical solutions. The work spans requirements, system design, prototyping, and integration, with an emphasis on finding solutions that fit the existing code environment.
Responsibilities
- Clarify and manage business and technical requirements for new applications and system enhancements. - Connect business analysis and architecture guidance to detailed technical designs and specifications. - Evaluate options and recommend solutions that fit the constraints of the current environment. - Support application configuration, integration, and system performance. - Contribute to iterative delivery practices, including Agile or Scrum approaches.
Requirements
- Six years of IT experience; or four years with technical certification or college coursework; or a bachelor’s degree and two years of IT experience. - Familiarity with application configuration and integration approaches such as service-oriented architecture, SOAP, or REST. - Knowledge of relevant technologies across areas such as cloud services, data analytics, mobile or web development, and scripting. The source lists examples including Hadoop, SaaS, Python, Java, HTML, and CSS. - Experience defining and managing requirements and working with software development life cycle methods such as Agile, Scrum, or iterative development. - Analytical problem-solving, conceptual and creative thinking, and strong written and verbal communication.
Nice to have
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. - Experience with rapid prototyping.
