Role overview
Develop and maintain Python software and data pipelines that support clinical research and the reliable handling of clinical trial data. The role works across engineering, analytics, and data science teams to deliver scalable applications and secure data exchange while meeting expectations for regulated clinical environments.
Responsibilities
- Build reusable Python applications with frameworks such as Django or Flask. - Design and maintain software components that connect analytical and operational systems. - Develop REST APIs and data pipelines for clinical and business applications. - Improve data processing performance and support cloud-based services and SQL databases. - Create automated tests, investigate defects, and improve software quality. - Work with cross-functional teams and ensure solutions follow applicable clinical research standards and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
- Technical degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline. - At least three years of Python development experience in software engineering or data-focused work. - Proficiency with Python, Django or Flask, SQL, and databases. - Experience with REST APIs, AWS, Git, and front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Knowledge of clinical trial processes and clinical data management practices. - Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; legally authorized to work in Costa Rica.
