About this role
Role overview Lead engineering work for an event registration product while helping shape the reliability, security, and architecture of a broader software platform. This senior individual contributor role combines end-to-end feature ownership in a product squad with cross-team work on cloud infrastructure, delivery practices, observability, and modernization. You will collaborate with product and engineering leaders to set technical direction and help teams deliver safely as the platform evolves.
Responsibilities - Own features from planning through release, using iterative delivery, feature flags, automated tests, and monitoring. - Work with product partners to refine plans, uncover risks, and identify opportunities; build with performance and security in mind. - Guide squad-level architecture, code quality, and engineering practices, and communicate decisions through proposals, specifications, and release plans. - Improve cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, progressive delivery, and rollback practices, and help make those practices consistent across teams. - Strengthen monitoring and incident response, expanding useful coverage across services. - Advance platform security through vulnerability scanning, penetration test coordination, and standards; contribute shared architecture, libraries, and tools. - Lead careful modernization of older systems while maintaining ongoing delivery.
Requirements - Principal-level software engineering experience with the ability to own complex product work and influence engineering beyond one team. - Comfort working across a software stack and contributing to architectural decisions and engineering standards. - Experience building and operating cloud services, delivery pipelines, and production monitoring. - Strong communication skills for technical proposals, specifications, test reporting, and release coordination. - A product-minded approach to balancing delivery, quality, security, performance, and platform health.
Nice to have - Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Angular or React Native, relational or document databases, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and automated testing and monitoring tools. - Background with registration, payment, integration, data pipeline, or event technology systems.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first, with an optional London office. The package includes salary, equity, benefits, annual leave, possible sabbatical leave, and a professional development budget. - The role offers influence over technical direction and opportunities to mentor across teams.
