Staff Field Engineer | Germany | Remote

Role overview

Act as a senior technical force multiplier for presales teams, helping them handle strategic customer engagements, complex demonstrations, workshops, and technical evaluations. The role combines field architecture, technical content development, production-quality demo infrastructure, product feedback, customer enablement, and mentorship. The position is remote and focused on supporting the German market.

Responsibilities

- Support the most strategic deals and customer engagements, solving complex technical challenges with sales engineers and observability specialists. - Serve as a recognized subject-matter expert in one platform area while maintaining broad knowledge across related observability technologies. - Create reference architectures and compelling, value-oriented technical narratives that help customers understand proposed solutions. - Develop and maintain workshops, how-to materials, demonstration scripts, and other enablement content, with a repeatable review process. - Architect and operate reliable, secure, scalable environments for demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-value work. - Influence product planning by surfacing customer needs, enablement gaps, adoption barriers, and investment priorities. - Present at events, webinars, panels, conferences, and other marketing activities; improve documentation and contribute technical articles or white papers. - Mentor senior and staff-level field and solution engineers.

Requirements

- At least 8 years of relevant technical experience, including at least 2 years in a senior field engineering role or comparable position. - Extensive experience in technical presales, solution architecture, customer workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-value engagements. - Ability to work independently on high-impact strategic opportunities and resolve complex technical objections. - Deep expertise in at least one observability or platform technology area, plus working knowledge across multiple related technologies. - Experience building technical enablement content and maintaining dependable environments for demos and workshops. - Strong presentation, customer communication, technical writing, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
