About this role
Role overview
Design, build, and operate backend systems for a distributed log data platform offered as both an open-source project and a managed cloud service. The work centers on reliability, performance, and availability in multi-tenant systems running across cloud infrastructure. You will take projects from early design through customer use and ongoing operations, while contributing to the wider open-source ecosystem.

Requirements
- Solid software development experience in at least one language; Go is used, while experience with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar languages can transfer. - Experience delivering projects independently from requirements gathering through release to users. - Experience developing cloud software or working in systems engineering. - Ability to write clean, robust, performant code that other engineers can maintain. - Independence and clear communication in a largely remote engineering environment.
Nice to have
- Low-level development involving databases, storage systems, or query engines. - Kubernetes experience, or familiarity with microservices and distributed systems. - Operational experience with observability tools, on-call work, SRE practices, or infrastructure as code.
