Forward Deployed Engineer (all genders) - Remote Germany or Hungary
Job details
About this role
Role overview Take cloud-security software from customer agreement through installation, production use, and ongoing maintenance. You’ll own the technical delivery: connect cloud environments, configure guardrails, resolve deployment issues, and feed lessons back into product and engineering. This is an engineering-focused customer delivery role without a sales quota, based remotely in Europe, with travel to customer sites as needed.
Responsibilities - Onboard customers end to end by connecting cloud accounts and deploying sensors, including into customer-managed clusters when needed. - Configure and tune SQL-based policies against frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIS2, and DORA while controlling false positives. - Integrate security checks into Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and AI coding agents through MCP. - Monitor and maintain production deployments, handle upgrades and incidents, and debug within customer environments. - Share reproducible issues with engineering, resolve what you can directly, and provide structured product feedback and reusable deployment playbooks. - Join scoping discussions to ensure proposed work can be installed and operated in the customer’s environment.
Requirements - Five to six or more years in customer-facing technical delivery, such as forward-deployed or solutions engineering, SRE, or platform consulting. - Hands-on experience operating workloads, identity and access, networking, and audit logging on at least one major cloud platform. - Ability to write integration or tooling code in Go or Python, read Go services, and work with SQL and APIs. - Daily use of AI coding agents and practical MCP experience. - Understanding of organizational change controls, approvals, release practices, and audits. - Fluent English, clear communication with technical and executive audiences, and willingness to travel up to about 25% across Europe and the United States.
Nice to have - Experience with restricted networks, private connectivity, data residency, or self-hosted and in-cluster deployments. - Turning compliance frameworks into concrete controls; policy-as-code tools such as OPA/Rego, Sentinel, or Cedar; or CSPM products.
Benefits and work setup Remote across Europe, with a team gathering in Europe once per quarter. Work is asynchronous by default, with written documentation and protected focus time. The source describes early-employee equity, market-benchmarked salary, and ownership of customer deployments. Expect an early-stage environment where deployment processes and playbooks are still being built.
