Senior Software Engineer - Session Replay | Canada | Remote

Role overview Help build a new observability product that connects what users actually experienced to the telemetry signals developers rely on. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Session Replay squad, you will operate as a technical leader shaping product direction and evolving the backend architecture, including a migration toward columnar/analytical storage for high-volume session data. This is a remote position for candidates in Canadian Eastern time zones only.

Responsibilities - Own end-to-end technical direction for the Session Replay offering across frontend, backend, and data systems. - Design systems around columnar or analytical data storage for large-scale session data, defining data models, ingestion pipelines, and query patterns. - Lead the design of investigation workflows that connect replay with logs, metrics, traces, and other telemetry. - Make high-leverage architectural decisions impacting multiple teams and products. - Partner with adjacent product teams to build cohesive cross-product experiences. - Engage directly with customers through calls and structured feedback loops, helping them instrument and adopt the product. - Improve engineering standards, patterns, and operational practices; mentor engineers and grow technical leadership within the team.

Requirements - Significant professional experience as a senior software engineer working on production systems at scale. - Strong proficiency in Go for backend services and APIs, plus experience with TypeScript and React on the frontend. - Hands-on experience designing large-scale data systems, including columnar or analytical storage, ingestion pipelines, and query optimization. - Familiarity with object storage (S3, GCS, Azure Blob) and distributed data processing. - Comfort making architectural decisions that span multiple teams and products. - Track record of mentoring engineers and raising team-wide engineering standards.

Nice to have - Experience with frontend observability, debugging workflows, or session-level telemetry. - Background working on early-stage products where you help shape both the product and how the team works.
