Role overview A Staff System Software Engineer designs and develops firmware and system software for next-generation on-edge IoT platforms spanning Linux, Android, and real-time operating systems. Responsibilities - Design, develop, and optimize high-performance firmware and system software for IoT platforms. - Debug, profile, and validate firmware running on complex multi-core architectures. - Build automated and unit-level functional tests that verify designs against requirements. - Present and review architectural proposals for next-generation business logic, incorporating feedback from peers. - Partner with cross-disciplinary teams to design, develop, and test features from low-level firmware up through higher software layers. - Maintain and validate features at scale using cloud-based analysis pipelines.
Requirements - 8+ years of professional software development experience. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - Strong programming experience with Kotlin, Java, and C++. - Deep hands-on experience with AOSP (Android Open Source Project), the Android OS, and Linux. - Background in embedded programming on Linux and/or real-time operating systems.
