About this role

Role overview

This is a mid-level Android engineering position focused on building consumer-facing mobile experiences at scale. The engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend peers to ship features, framework improvements, and reusable components that reach millions of users. The role combines hands-on feature work with cross-cutting platform contributions such as modularization, media loading, and dependency injection.

Responsibilities

- Contribute across the full product lifecycle, from ideation and rapid prototyping through A/B testing, architecture, and release of scalable mobile solutions. - Build and maintain shared application infrastructure, ensuring reliability and performance for both end users and internal developer consumers. - Drive app-wide improvements such as modularization, image and video loading pipelines, right-to-left language support, dependency injection patterns, and reusable UI components. - Partner with senior engineers on varied, high-impact initiatives and grow technical skills through peer review and collaborative design. - Use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate drafting, prototyping, and system design, while validating outputs through testing, source-checking, and peer review.

Requirements

- At least 2 years of industry experience building consumer or business-facing Android applications in Kotlin or Java. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Strong grasp of Android fundamentals, including Activity Lifecycle, memory management, and modern development best practices. - Demonstrated track record of writing reliable, maintainable code intended for reuse by other engineers. - Practical experience using AI tools to improve speed and quality in day-to-day engineering workflows. - Sound judgment in critically evaluating AI-assisted work and taking ownership of final decisions and deliverables.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, modular Android architectures, or large-scale consumer product codebases.

Benefits and work setup

- Hybrid working model requiring in-person collaboration roughly 1-2 times every six months; the role can be located anywhere in the country. - Relocation assistance is not provided. - US-based applicants only; the role is eligible for equity, with compensation influenced by location, experience, and skills.
