Job details
About this role
Role overview
Lead complex engineering work on the trusted platform layer that lets people and AI agents securely access customer data and take actions. The scope spans identity and permissions, governed integrations with external systems, and a customer data foundation; you’ll help shape new capabilities from early design through production, with other teams building on the results.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead ambiguous projects from discovery and scoping through architecture, delivery, and production ownership. - Design distributed, multi-tenant systems and establish reusable patterns for platform security, integrations, and data access. - Build authentication and authorization capabilities for people and AI agents, with privacy and auditability in mind. - Develop integration foundations that let automated workflows use customer systems safely across varied configurations. - Use AI coding tools in engineering workflows, directing agents and checking their work. - Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring, and guide technical direction across the team.
Requirements
- Typically 8 or more years of professional software engineering experience, with a record of independently delivering complex projects. - Strong system design skills, including distributed and multi-tenant architecture and thoughtful technical tradeoffs. - Production experience with cloud infrastructure, especially containerized workloads on AWS, and event-driven systems. - Practical fluency with AI development tools for designing, building, reviewing, and shipping software; able to assess their output. - Experience with authentication and authorization patterns such as OAuth2/OIDC, token-based authentication, or fine-grained permissions; or experience building third-party integrations at scale. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, including mentoring and aligning stakeholders across teams.
Nice to have
- Experience building LLM-powered or agentic systems, including tool calling or MCP. - Background in fintech or another regulated industry. - Experience with Elixir, Go, Ruby, Rust, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, Kafka, or monitoring and delivery tools such as Datadog and Jenkins.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote-first collaboration with team members in Estonia and Poland; the role is based in Estonia or Poland and aligned to Eastern European time. - Office access is available in Tallinn and Tartu for team members based in Estonia.
