The work combines Go systems development, security-focused design, and upstream community participation, with opportunities to shape architecture and technical plans.
Responsibilities - Develop and maintain platform capabilities, plugins, storage backends, secrets engines, and authentication methods in Go. - Work with technical leadership to refine architecture, write technical proposals, and turn feature plans into deliverable engineering work. - Apply secure coding practices and help assess and address reported vulnerabilities. - Review community contributions, triage issues, and contribute to open-source project maintenance. - Build unit, integration, and security tests; help strengthen CI, release workflows, and artifact supply-chain security. - Contribute to internal security tooling and integration prototypes related to identity and secrets management.
Requirements - Production experience with Go, including concurrency, interface design, testing, and performance profiling. - Background in backend systems engineering at an intermediate or senior level; the source indicates roughly 3–5+ years. - Understanding of software security fundamentals such as PKI/TLS, cryptography, authentication and authorization, and API design. - Ability to collaborate across a distributed team and align working hours with colleagues in the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. - Strong learning orientation, sound judgment, respect for colleagues, and a collaborative approach.
Nice to have - Experience with the platform or a comparable secrets management codebase, including plugins, storage drivers, dynamic secrets, or internal RPC. - Familiarity with Linux, containers, Kubernetes, or Terraform/OpenTofu. - Contributions to open-source Go projects or security tools.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time, globally remote role; candidates in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific are prioritized. - Compensation is listed as up to £100,000 plus bonus. - 33 days of paid holiday including UK bank holidays, enhanced parental leave, and private medical and dental insurance. - Individual professional development budget for conferences, courses, books, or coaching.
