Role overview A remote-friendly nonprofit technology platform is hiring a Product Data Scientist to join its growing Data team. The role partners with engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders to translate complex business questions into scalable analytical solutions, with a strong focus on behavioral insights and experimentation. The position sits at the intersection of product analytics, revenue analytics, and emerging AI-driven analytical workflows.
Responsibilities - Build and document the product data model in partnership with Analytics Engineering, ensuring quality, usability, and clarity in a fast-moving product environment. - Manage the inflow of data requests from product and revenue stakeholders, communicating needs, expectations, and progress with consistent two-way dialogue. - Drive the strategic product analytics roadmap, identifying high-impact analyses and capabilities ahead of explicit requests. - Serve as a subject matter expert on user behavior, leading work on activation, engagement, retention, and funnel analysis using product event data. - Design, run, and communicate A/B experiments end to end, applying statistical rigor and guiding stakeholders through ambiguous results. - Define and govern core product metrics such as activation rates, retention curves, and conversion funnels, partnering with stakeholders to evolve the framework over time. - Contribute domain expertise to an in-house agentic analytics framework, helping define evaluation standards for AI-generated analytical outputs.
Requirements - 4+ years of experience in product analytics, experimentation, and working with product event or clickstream data. - Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience. - Expert-level querying and data manipulation skills using SQL and Python (or another coding language). - Demonstrated ability to drive initiatives proactively with minimal oversight, identifying needs and proposing creative solutions. - Demonstrated interest in implementing agentic AI in a data context; hands-on experience is a plus.
Nice to have - Experience collaborating with Product and Revenue teams and tailoring analyses to different functional audiences. - Familiarity with building evaluation suites for AI-generated outputs and contributing to prompt or semantic layer design.
