Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer (USA)

Role overview A senior infrastructure security engineering role focused on protecting and hardening the platforms that underlay a large-scale software-as-a-service environment. The position is fully remote within the United States and operates at the staff level, partnering across engineering and security teams to set technical direction.

Responsibilities - Design and advance security controls for cloud and production infrastructure. - Lead threat modeling, vulnerability management, and remediation efforts across platform layers. - Partner with engineering teams to embed secure-by-default practices into build and deployment pipelines. - Investigate complex infrastructure incidents and drive root-cause improvements. - Mentor other engineers and contribute to long-term security architecture decisions.

Requirements - Extensive experience in infrastructure or platform security engineering. - Deep familiarity with at least one major cloud provider and its native security services. - Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, containers, and infrastructure-as-code tooling. - Track record of leading cross-team security initiatives from design to rollout.

Nice to have - Experience securing open-source or developer-tooling platforms at scale. - Contributions to security standards, audits, or compliance frameworks.
