Engineering Manager, Agent Foundations: Agent Execution

Role overview An Engineering Manager role leading the team responsible for the agent execution layer of an AI agent platform. The position focuses on the runtime and infrastructure that powers how agents perform tasks, call tools, and produce results. The role is remote within the United States.

Responsibilities - Manage and grow a team of engineers building the agent execution stack - Set technical direction for runtime reliability, performance, and scalability - Partner with research and product teams to integrate new agent capabilities into execution - Establish engineering practices for observability, debugging, and incident response - Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and career development across the team

Requirements - Several years of engineering management experience with teams building platform software - Strong technical background in distributed systems, runtimes, or developer infrastructure - Ability to balance research-oriented work with production engineering priorities - Experience hiring and developing engineers across multiple levels - Solid written communication for design documents and team planning
